GMOs attract and attack peoples and animals health.

What are GMOs and how did it came about?

GMO is know to mean Genetically Modified Organism, this is when bioengineers replicate organism to inject them in food so that they could give better results than those foods that are organic. According to GL Woosley, it all started when Andrei Bolezersky learned how to separate pure DNA in 1935. With this new method learned, scientist began thinking uses of it and GMOs was an idea. Around the 1970s scientist tested this new idea on food and was successful but had many discussions to see whether their new experiment could be safe for the public, many questions were raised, but in 1980 a court case in the U.S Patent Office, it was decided that GMOs would be patented. Scientist then began putting GMOs to use and soon in the 1994 GMO foods were allowed in Grocery Stores and genetically modified foods were booming high in production.

Are GMOs safe?

One of the crops that are most consumed or used is Corn and Soybeans. These crops are highly made with GMOs, according to Jeffrey M. Smith, soybeans have cause many allergic reactions in the skin, and soybeans that are natural don't give those people allergic reactions Bt Cotton also gave reactions to animals and people similar to that of soybeans. According to Gl Woolsley, in 2011 it was discovered that Bt Toxins where in pregnant woman that could be passed to their babies. This toxin is know to be in Corn in order to protect the crop from natural sprays. Smith also states how some rats were fed GMO crops and they had many organ failures, were overweight, and some even had mutations. If it had very bad effects on rats, what can it give to humans? According to Christina Sarich, GMO products are known to cause liver failure, urinary and bladder cancer, hypertension, thyroid disease, stroke, obesity, and more. Based on the people who got these side effects, GMOs is not safe as it seems.

Would it end world hunger?

Since GMOs are made to withstand many obstacles, to last longer, and much more, it is possible that it could end world hunger. However, based on the diseases GMOs have caused, it will increase the amount of food made, but it will most likely kill those who are not immune to or are used to eating these foods with chemicals.

Would it increase population?

GMOs would make population increase because food can now last longer and wont go to waste thus allowing to feed many more, especially countries with a starving community. However, like in 2011 with pregnant woman being found with Bt toxin that can pass to their baby stated by Woosley, it can decrease population too because with a toxin it can prevent a woman to give birth to a healthy child. The babies may come with disabilities due to the toxin, can come with mutations, or any disease.

Conclusion

GMOs, although it might end world hunger or is good for production, our health is not guaranteed.
